Patch glibc to avoid getaddrinfo() stack-based buffer overflow

  • CVE-2015-7547 for glibc vulnerability was filed in July last year. Now it is fixed. Patch is available to download.
  • The bug dates back to 2008.
  • Vulnerable when parties use glibc to translate web addresses into their IP address.
  • Vulnerability could be exploited to execute remote code.
